At MRS Machining in Augusta, Wisconsin, we strive to be the best. Providing turning, milling, drilling, and other machining operations, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to help our customers get their parts as quickly as possible while meeting and exceeding tolerances, quality standards, and ultimately our customer expectations. Continuous investment in the latest high-performance machinery and tooling is just a part of the plan. Strategic partnerships with vendors, educators, and other industry leaders, as well as community involvement all helps us maintain a leadership role in the industry.

Our Machining Strength Comes From Within

MRS Machining would be nothing without our highly skilled workforce. With that in mind, M.R.S. Machining places a large amount of time and care into preparing and educating our team members for success. We work with local schools to help ensure a rich talent pool of young and enthusiastic workers.  We also provide in-house training to help new employees gain familiarity with all the tools and

talent available, as well as to continually raising the bar for even our most talented machining professionals. We take great pride in our team and are always searching for motivated, hard working machinists with a desire to excel. (learn more about career opportunities here)

Company Growth

M.R.S. Machining has prospered and enjoyed continuous growth since its start in 1986. M.R.S. Machining is a family minority owned business. The business occupies approximately 30,000 square feet in two buildings located in the Augusta, Wisconsin Industrial Park. Another major addition is planned for 2015.

Our equipment reflects our continuous investment in manufacturing technology. All major production and inspection equipment is very late model machinery geared toward high productivity with fast metal removal and fine finishes. Our equipment is organized in cells to speed parts through multiple processes in real time for inspection efficiency and elimination of scrap.

The Future of Machining

Job Planning and Tracking

All machine cells include a computer station where all processes and procedures are generated and saved in the network. Typically each job is documented with inspection sheets, job notes, numbered prints, photographs and videos for future reference.

Bar Coding

The parts we make and the tools we use are all organized by bar coding, helping reduce errors and speed accurate information reporting. The extensive array of tools and inserts we use are organized, inventoried, and ordered with the help of bar-coded labels.

Operator Programming

Many of the parts we make are programmed on the shop floor by our highly skilled team of programmer/operators. Working from our networked file system of program files with powerful built-in CNC programming,  operators are empowered to respond quickly to urgent customer requirements and engineering changes. In those cases where programming is performed offline, programs are instantly available through the computer networking system.

Multi-Tasking Machinery

Wherever possible, our goal is to start and finish a part complete in one setup. This strategy reduces handling and setups, improving productivity and accuracy. To this end, we have implemented a number of sophisticated multi-tasking machines, various models of the Mazak Integrex series. These advanced machines combine turning and milling in one machine. The result, better looking, more accurate parts, all in less time with less handling, can be a terrific competitive advantage for you and for us.

Workforce Development

M.R.S. Machining participates in workforce development in-house and with local schools. It began with development of in-house training on CNC machine tools, gaging, and inspection in 2004.

We became one of the first customers of Eleva-Strum High School's Cardinal Manufacturing program in 2008. Cardinal Mfg Students run a real business, machining parts for us and others while learning technical and business skills essential to precision manufacturing. We have donated machinery and tooling to help this innovative program. We provide student tours and internships for students to learn more about the exciting opportunities in manufacturing.

Today, MRS Machining president Matt Guse also participates on the on the Advisory Board for Machine Tools at CVTC (Chippewa Valley Technical College), working to provide advanced training in the latest high-technology machinery.

M.R.S. Machining is an industry leader in turning, milling, and all machining technology today, and is working to build the shop of the future to meet your demanding requirements for today for a strong future tomorrow and for years to come.
