Company Growth
MRS Machining has prospered and enjoyed continuous growth since its start in 1986. MRS Machining is a family- and minority-owned business. The business occupies approximately 30,000 square feet in two buildings located in the Augusta, Wisconsin Industrial Park.
Our equipment reflects our continuous investment in advanced manufacturing technology and precision CNC machining capabilities. All major production and inspection equipment is very late-model machinery geared toward high productivity, fast metal removal, and tight-tolerance machining with fine finishes. Our equipment is organized in cells to speed parts through multiple processes in real time for efficient workflow, quality inspection, and scrap reduction.
The Future of Machining
Job Planning and Tracking
All machine cells include a computer station where all processes and procedures are generated and saved within the network. Typically, each job is documented with inspection sheets, job notes, numbered prints, photographs, and videos for future reference and process consistency in precision CNC machining.
Operator Programming
Many of the parts we make are programmed on the shop floor by our highly skilled team of programmer/operators. Working from our networked file system of program files with powerful built-in CNC programming, operators are empowered to respond quickly to urgent customer requirements and engineering changes in precision CNC machining environments.
In those cases where programming is performed offline, programs are instantly available through the computer networking system, ensuring efficient production, quick turnaround times, and consistent machining processes.
Multi-Tasking Machinery
Wherever possible, our goal is to start and finish a part complete in one setup. This strategy reduces handling and setups, improving productivity and accuracy in precision CNC machining operations. To this end, we have implemented a number of sophisticated multi-tasking machines, including various models of the Mazak Integrex series.
These advanced machines combine CNC turning and CNC milling in one machine. The result is better looking, more accurate parts produced in less time with less handling, creating a competitive advantage through efficient, high-precision manufacturing for both our customers and our team.
Workforce Development
MRS Machining participates in workforce development in-house and with local schools. It began with the development of in-house training on CNC machine tools, precision machining, gaging, and quality inspection processes in 2004.
We became one of the first customers of Eleva-Strum High School's Cardinal Manufacturing program in 2008. Cardinal Manufacturing Students run a real business, machining parts for us and others while learning technical and business skills essential to precision CNC machining and advanced manufacturing. We have donated machinery and tooling to help support this innovative program. We provide student tours and internships for students to learn more about the exciting opportunities in manufacturing careers and CNC machining jobs in Wisconsin.
MRS Machining is an industry leader in CNC turning, CNC milling, and multi-axis machining technology, and is working to build the shop of the future to meet your demanding requirements for complex, tight-tolerance parts and high-precision components, today, for a strong future tomorrow, and for years to come.
